A Note from Baby Boomers' President

Dear Members,

I want to thank all the members who attended the General Meeting on Jan.19th. I was very excited to see so many who expressed interest and gave us suggestions on how to improve this great club. For those who were unable to attend the meeting, this will keep you in the loop.

At the meeting the board and the members discussed the challenges of managing such a large club. We are in the process of updating the By-Laws to change the birth years required for membership to the Oak Run Baby Boomers to 1946-1964, which is the federal and state recognized definition of a Baby Boomer. (We have many members who are outside that age range and they were grandfathered in at the start of the club.) Also, because of our size and because we cannot accommodate more than 360 people at the Palm Grove Club, the board has now capped the membership at 450. The board has now started a waiting list for new members. Guest tickets were also discussed and are limited to two per household. This may have to be revisited in the future due to the size of the club. We also discussed adding the position of Event Coordinator to the Board.
